It's wait and see, I guess, but so far Heatley is saying and doing all of the right things. I really hope he's healthy, because he'll be playing with two awesome passers in Koivu and Bouchard, so that makes me really excited to hear that. What you need to be sure is, if he's going to score 40+ goals this year, he needs to be 100% healthy. A lot of people overlook that Heatley had a groin injury that started at the end of his 2009-2010 season and extended throughout this season. Add that to the fact that he had a broken hand and a high ankle sprain, 26 goals IS a down year for Heatley. Although I get the speed of Havlat is something the Sharks can use, I just don't see any other upside for this trade other than cap space for San Jose. If he's 100% healthy and he has a solid passer (which Koivu should be), you should see Heatley score about 35-40 goals. As much as SJ fans want to bag on Heater, he was a point per game player in 2009-2010 when playing with Thornton and Marleau... and even with injuries and playing on the 2nd line, he still produced 64 points, enough to be 4th on a strong Sharks team in terms of points. Not too bad.
